Alleghany Regional Hospital Breast Imaging Center Receives Perfect Mammography Rating The Breast Imaging Center at Alleghany Regional Hospital (ARH) received a perfect score during its annual facility inspection under the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA). The results of the inspection held in October revealed an All Items in Compliance rating, which is indicative of 100% compliance, the highest rating possible. The announcement came from the Food and Drug Administration, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The intensive inspection compares specific items in six major areas: equipment performance, technologist QC, medical physicist surveys, personnel qualifications, medical reports and outcome audits. The report showed that all areas reviewed at the hospital are in compliance with required standards. The philosophy of the MQSA and its implementation, through standards and inspections, is to support continuous improvement in mammography services. Connie Salyards, R.T.-R., Team Leader of Radiology states, The mammography technologists, Alice Tucker, Kathy Anderson, Kathy Lee and Dianne Loving are to be commended for their dedication and also the effort and attention placed into developing an exceptional Breast Imaging Center for our patients. Mary E. Zelenik, M.D., supervising radiologist of the Breast Imaging Center and Dr. Bruce Banning are the interpreting radiologists.
